Online roundtable discussion
"The importance of corporate PPAs for the energy transition"
The Paris Agreement on Climate Change (COP21) and the EU's ambitions present major challenges for governments, businesses and citizens. The guiding principle is clear to everyone: our CO2 emissions must be drastically reduced. We must all use our energy more efficiently. Rapid action is needed, because Europe aims to be climate-neutral by 2050.

How can companies contribute to this?
There are a number of options for reducing CO2 emissions. For example, companies can opt for greening the purchase of energy by entering into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

We will discuss this during a roundtable discussion with various experts. Each specialist will contribute based on their expertise: the energy supplier (Eneco), the customer (Borealis), the asset (Norther) and the energy expert of an important sector federation (essenscia).

Topics for the roundtable discussion
  • What is a corporate Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)?
  • Why are more and more companies opting for such long-term energy partnerships?
  • Does a PPA guarantee the further development of (offshore) wind farms now that subsidies are being phased out?
  • Can such a PPA strengthen the competitive advantage of companies?
These and many other topics will be discussed in detail in an online roundtable discussion. You will be able to follow this debate live on Tuesday 15 December at 1 p.m. We will gather a strong panel of experts on the subject at our table.
